Creating and Maintaining Your Ocean Friendly Garden

Roger's Gardens has graciously offered us an opportunity to give a public presentation on our latest program – "Ocean Friendly Gardens." Please join us for an educational presentation on how our gardening practices can dramatically reduce pollution reaching our local waterways and beaches – and use the opportunity to visit a fantastic and inspiring nursery.

Runoff from residential landscapes affects the quality of our oceans and the quality of our lives. Southern California gardeners may unknowingly be contributing to coastal pollution. Landscapes and hardscapes could be contributing harmful oils, soaps, fertilizers and pesticides to our local waters.  Join author and landscape designer Douglas Kent as he discusses CPR, a unique strategy for creating ocean friendly gardens. Kent, a consultant for Surfrider Foundation, has been a successful environmental horticulturist for over 20 years. He has written four books, over fifty articles, and has created ocean-friendly landscapes across the state.
