Breakwater Bash!

{mosimage}The Surfrider Foundation's Long Beach Chapter cordially invites you to their Breakwater Bash! set for Thursday, November 15th at Smooth's Sports Grille in downtown Long Beach. 7pm 'til closing.

The
purpose of this very special event is to raise funds and continue
outreach and education for their ongoing campaign to restore the shore
in Long Beach by reconfiguring the Long Beach Breakwater.

The
Surfrider Foundation believes that, by reconfiguring the southern end
of the Long Beach breakwater, we can improve water circulation and
water quality and hopefully bring back some surf to Long Beach!

The
theme of the evening will have a vintage flair, highlighting the
natural beauty and popularity of the Long Beach coastline before the
Breakwater was constructed.   Come enjoy the live music, a silent
auction featuring unique artwork and gift baskets, special guest
speakers, and great raffle prizes.

On
Display will be a very special 1930's Redwood Surfboard used by the
Long Beach City Life Guards along the downtown beach between the old
Pine Avenue Pier, to the foot of Alamitos Avenue… courtesy of the Long Beach Heritage Museum.

This event is open to the public – $10 at the door.

The Long Beach Chapter is presently seeking donations for the silent
auction and raffle for this event. Please e-mail nhastings@surfrider.org to donate.
